Study by the School of Pharmacy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) on the Action of NOVASIN
The Department of Pharmacy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens evaluated in vitro how cells respond when exposed to different concentrations of NOVASIN.
During the assay, a small gap was created in the cell layer, and the rate at which the cells migrated to close it was monitored.
The results showed that:
- At the lowest concentrations, approximately 40% of the gap had already closed within the first 12 hours.
- Within 24 hours, gap closure ranged from 96.8% to 100% across the concentration range evaluated as effective.
- At the two lowest concentrations, the mean early response was numerically higher than that of the study’s positive control.
- Signs of cellular stress and damage were observed only at the two highest concentrations tested.
In simple terms, the study showed that, at appropriate concentrations, NOVASIN demonstrated very good cellular compatibility and supported cell migration and gap closure.
These findings provide a positive laboratory indication supporting the further development and evaluation of the NOVASIN formulation for dermatological care applications.
